Would you eat an avocado or two each day for six months in exchange for cash? Researchers from four universities want 1,000 people to participate in a clinical study.
The researchers aim to determine if eating avocados could lead to a slimmer figure. Hence, eligible participants should measure between 35 and 40 inches around the waist. Qualified participants will receive $300 at the end of the six-month study. As if that’s not enough, each person will also receive two dozen avocados
The participants will be evenly divided among the Loma Linda University, Penn State, Tufts University and the University of California, Los Angeles. Apart from following the avocado diet, the researchers would also require participants to undergo MRI scanning.
They would also need to attend a dietary meeting each month, as well as clinical visits to their respective campus. Even if you don’t lose weight, there’s still an advantage with eating avocados. A Journal of the American Heart Association study claimed that consuming one per day may lower blood pressure. Those who prefer a flat tummy, however, should look beyond their diet and exercise routines.
Some people may find it more difficult to remove excess fat from the bellies, even with proper food intake and physical activity. Experts suggested that it could be because of your genetics. It’s highly possible that you may have the same tummy as your mom or dad.
A solution, however, may involve a customized diet. If you live in Utah, consider a weight-loss clinic like MD Diet Weightloss and Nutrition, LLC that offers different products and services such as MD Diet. Its location in Salt Lake City or Orem makes them a good option as well.
Before you participate in any study, take precautions like finding out if you have food allergies. This also serves as one reason why you still have excess fat in your stomach, despite being strict with your dietary habits.
